The Hoods Have It!

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,

I had to show you this photo of the Spud & Chloë shelves at Purl Soho! Brandy Fortune was just in NYC and I asked if I could share her photo. With all of those juicy, rich colors to choose from you really can’t go wrong. I feel like diving into those shelves and staying for awhile. Yum!

I am so excited to share a few of the finished Camp Hoodies from our current knitalong. Click here to see these and more Camp Hoodies! If you want to check out the knitalong on Ravelry click here! I am having the best time with this group of knitters. They are fun and positive and many are learning lots of new tricks along the way. I love that. What a pleasure this knitalong has been so far. Thanks to everyone participating. Carry on as most are not done yet!

Here are a few of the first finished hoodies popping up:

Jill is one of my favorite knitters around! Everything she knits makes me want to knit one, too.

She is adorable from every angle in her Camp Hoodie but when you see this….

… it just makes you smile! I L.O.V.E. the stripey hood so much that I think I will have to make something soon with a striped hood just like Jill. She is an inspiring one. Thanks for participating and for jumping in to comment and help. You are the best. It is a privilege to have you around. Thank you.

Megan’s version of the Camp Hoodie is fantastic!! I love her color choices and all of the details she did and did so well. She mentioned that she wasn’t sure if she was going to leave the pom-poms on but I say a big yes to the poms! Either way it is gorgeous.

Megan really likes the way her embroidery turned out and I do, too. Good job, Megan! Thanks for jumping in.

Here is another finished Camp Hoodie by Kim! I love the bright colors and the different fair isle pattern. I really need a shot of color like this about now. Great work, Kim. The cool thing about Kim is that this is her very first fair isle project. Here are the firsts for Kim and this project quoted from our knitalong thread:

“New things I learned while making this sweater:

1) First time to ever do any color work (yay!)
2) First time to make pom poms
3) First time to make an I-Cord.

So grateful for this KAL. Thanks, Susan!! :)”

Kim has been a joy to knit with! I am impressed by her willingness to jump in and try new things with such a positive attitude. Thanks, Kim.

Kim even added fair isle to her hood!! How cute is that? She is a fair isle queen now.

And my good buddy, Merri, finished her daughter’s zipped up Camp Hoodie in the brand new color, Waterslide. She made it in the smallest size and it fits perfectly. She is a cutie and what a perfect piece to layer up in those cold Minnesota winters. This will be a perfect warmer-upper for the spring and fall seasons, too. It is a good year-round garment to have.

Don’t forget about Merri’s instructions for the zipped up version for her daughter’s Camp Hoodie. The pdf is available for download. I will get this up on the sidebar under tutorials so it will always be there. Click here for Merris’s zipper pdf!

Thanks, Merri, for the fun! You are always game for anything.

The knitalong is still going on. We are having a good time and people are jumping in the forum to share and comment and ask questions so don’t hesitate.
