I received the sweetest message on Ravelry the other day about Ribbit and here it is:
Christmas Ribbit
Hi Susan!
The reason I am writing, however, is to show you what my mom has done with your Ribbit pattern (she is not likely to come one here and post anything as she is mostly a lurker). She got the idea to make him into a Santa Froggy, and I wanted to share the results with you. I think he is absolutely adorable. I can’t seem to add an image to my message, so I have added him to my projects here on Ravelry. I hope he makes you smile : )

First off, Anne, thank you for the kind compliment. Secondly, your mom is so fun! I found out some more information about the Santa Ribbit in another email from Anne. Here is the other email that includes some tips from Anne’s mom, Meriam Shafer:

My mom is completely flattered that you like Santa Ribbit and absolutely gives her permission to post! Her name is Meriam Shafer. She has made quite a few regular Ribbits (2 were included in a gift set I made up with the Frog and Toad book collection for a silent auction at my daughters’ school. People went NUTS!), but she loves Christmas and had been plotting on how to turn him into Santa.
She used the finger pattern for the white buttons, made a generic hat, and eyeballed the placement of the black belt. She also added a red turtleneck to cover where the green head attached to the red body.
I am glad to share her fun project with you. Make sure and let me know where you post it so we can see it.

Red- Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Ladybug #629
Black- Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Ink #613
White- Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Tulip #625
Green- Spud & Chloë Sweater in Grass #7502
Did you know you can easily mix the beautiful Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed and Organic Cottons with Spud & Chloë Sweater because they are the exact same gauge. I have interchanged the two yarn lines quite a bit. The colors from both lines are gorgeous together!
Okay, I have to admit I am planning a Tiny December Knitalong! Now I’ve said it. I hope you’ll come along with me this time. I promise a cute, quick, tiny project that you will be able to whip up in no time at all. I am traveling for my book tour later this week so I’ll try my hardest to squeeze in the pattern pieces as quickly as possible. Hopefully my flights will have internet access again, that was sweet.
