Photo Contest Winners + Fall Inspiration: Zipper Cowl

August 7, 2014

Congratulations to our 3 winners from last month’s photo contest (clockwise from top left): mlt4378, Amy V, and Stefanie M.! We enjoyed seeing everyone’s creative submissions last month, so many thanks to those of you who took the time to send in your submission!

As summer winds down, it’s time to think about fall knitting. Perhaps you’ll be heading back to school, taking one last trip, or just want to be ready for the changing seasons, but there’s no better time to cast on for a new project than the present! The Fall 2014 issue of Interweave Knits is full of knit-worthy projects, including this striking cowl design by Ashley Rao. The Zipper Cowl is knit with two colors of Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Hand Dyes (shown below in Putty and Cranberry). The issue also includes a tutorial for the Fisherman’s Rib stitch used in the design to create a reversible fabric with stunning changes in color and texture.
