Tuck in Spud & Chloë Sweater

When I found out I was going to be a first-time Auntie, I was pretty darn excited! I got knitting right away (and haven’t stopped knitting wee things since).

In the beginning, not knowing whether a niece or nephew was on the way, I decided to channel my energies toward gender-neutral projects. And our oh-so-adorable Tuck turtle pattern was my first choice. (Really, who could resist him?)

Tuck… all tucked in.

This little toy is cleverly constructed so that all of Tuck’s little appendages “tuck” in–just like a real turtle. He knits up super-quick in cottony soft Spud & Chloë Sweater and will be durable for small fingers to pull legs out over and over.

Tuck turned over.

Inspired by my brother’s real-life turtles, Mikey and Donna, I went with more realistic colors from the Sweater palette; dark green Chipmunk (#7511) and (appropriately) Turtle (#7514).

Tuck from the top.

I think my Tuck turned out fantastic. I really liked playing with the embroidery on top of the shell. Oh, and did I mention that I was the first person to have a baby gift for the soon-to-be-parents? They both think Tuck is pretty sweet too.
