One Pattern, Three Looks

November 15, 2013

A lot of time, money, and effort goes into creating handknits, so we think it’s especially nice when a knit pattern offers options.

Take our Moscow Coat for instance.

The Moscow Coat: Look 1.

Knit in the ultra-cozy, ultra-chic mix of Blue Sky Alpacas Bulky (in Gray Wolf) and Blue Sky Alpacas TECHNO (in Smoke) this showstopper features chic dressmaker details like the waistband knit horizontally and in a twisted rib for structure and feminine shaping. The oversized cowl is knit as a separate knit piece which offers lots of different styling options. Here the cowl is slipped down around the shoulders for a fabulously fashion-forward feel.

The Moscow Coat: Look 2.

Here’s a look at the cowl worn straight up sheltering the neck and cheeks from fierce winter winds (and framing your face quite nicely in the process). We love the contrast in texture between the two yarns.

The Moscow Coat: Look 3

Of course the coat (this time in Coyote and Metro Silver) is a stunner on its own. Remove the cowl and you have a perfectly polished piece that’s perfect for the office. And don’t forget to make the cowl earn its keep by pairing it with all your other winter favorites.
