Fun with Spud!

November 5, 2010

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,

When I ran across these sweet pictures on the Friends of Spud & Chloë Ravelry group I knew I would have to share them with you. Antenzella (rav id) and Tory in real life, made the Hoot Hat out of Spud & Chloë Outer and Sweater in the cutest color combination. I asked and received permission to share her photos on Spud says!

Tory made Hoot for her younger daughter and says that she hasn’t stopped smiling ever since she put it on her head. Next, she is making two Flap Happy Hats for her older daughters.

Check out Tory’s blog here! It is called the Twisted Skein. Her banner at the top is our yummy Spud & Chloë yarns and they are looking good. Tory is currently working on her Master’s Knitting program and is documenting her progress on her blog. Also, she has lots more photos of her S&C hats on her flickr account if you are interested. Her girls are adorable.

Here is her oldest daughter wearing the Flap Happy Hat made in Sweater. Tory definitely has a way with colors. Wow!

What a playful project. Here is what Tory has to say about the Spud & Chloë line:

“She (her daughter) picked the pattern, colors and the order. She is very excited about being able to pick so much. I have just completely fallen in love with the Spud and Chloe line.”

Well, Tory, I have fallen in love with your joyful knitting and your beautiful daughters. Be sure to let me know when you finish the hat for your other daughter so I can share that project, too. I don’t want to leave anyone out. Thanks so much for sharing.

My friend Lucy, who once lived in Australia and is now living in China, has completely reworked her Easy Top-Down Raglan so it fits her perfectly. She made it in Watermelon Spud & Chloë Sweater and added a decorative stitch on the front and sleeves. I love it Lucy! I love to see it when knitters are fearless. That’s the best. Fantastic sweater, Lucy.

This morning I cast on for a baby blanket in Spud & Chloë Outer in Cedar. I already have knit through two skeins and it is going to be gorgeous and simple and fun all at the same time. I am using a super cool stitch pattern that is a play on garter stitch making it reversible. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

I have so many Spud & Chloë projects going right now you wouldn’t believe it.

Yesterday afternoon I completed the bind off on this project I am calling, Twister. Twister is a long loop-type scarf made in two skeins of Spud & Chloë Sweater in the Popsicle colorway. Popsicle is the deepest shade of raspberry and I have fallen hard for this color. It is incredible and no computer monitor that I’ve seen can do it justice.

You can wear this one many different ways and that’s what I love about it the most. This pattern will be coming soon.

Okay, Friends, that’s all I’ve got for you today. Well, maybe not all, just one more thing. I am writing up the Go Team! Hat pattern right now, which I did a sneak peek of on our Facebook page. I’ll have this ready for you soon on here.

It is fun to throw in progress photos up on that venue every once in a while. Come join me on Facebook if you haven’t already.

Now I’ve got to get back to my knitting. See you soon.
