Metalico Crush

August 28, 2012

The Etched Rio Wrap design by Sarah Smuland.

My friend and coworker, Sarah, has a bit of a crush on Blue Sky Alpacas Metalico.

First, she names the Gold Dust colorway. Next, she was inspired to design the Etched Rio Wrap.

…and then after finishing the Etched Rio Wrap design, Sarah had some leftover Metalico in Gold Dust, of course, she immediately cast-on for the Leslie Wrap!

The Smock Top design by Laura Zukaite.

Finally, in the luminescent Opal, Sarah knit the Smock Top. She just had to have something brand new to wear for her first trip to TNNA–and she received a ton of compliments! (She has a new design on the needles, but she won’t tell me what she’s making–I know it’s in Metalico, though.)

When I asked Sarah just what it was about Metalico that she was crushing on so hard, this is what she had to say, “When I knit [with Metalico] it looks one way and then when I block it and finish it it takes on this whole new character. That’s when it’s really transformed into something I absolutely love.”

Do you see what I mean? Total Metalico crush! (Can you blame her, though?)
