Cedar Wrap Style

November 16, 2010

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,

I am so excited about this new project. I have been trying all sorts of different ways to twist and turn this fun knitted piece. The cool thing about having the buttons combined with the yarn overs in the stitch pattern is that you can pop the buttons through all over the place. This holds the wrap in different formations.

One of my favorite things in the bitter cold winter is to have a big, chunky scarf up close around my neck. Oh, the warmth feels so good. By slipping one button through a strategic spot (above) this makes the wrap more like a fun substantial scarf.

Here is another style for the Cedar Wrap. I simply hung the piece around my neck and passed all five buttons through the adjoining side. It’s so easy and versatile. LOVE it.

Anyway, I had to share immediately! I hope you will make one of these for a gift or for yourself this winter. I am going to have to make another one to keep here at my house. I know TC would love one of these to wear inside and outside this winter. Maybe we could share.

Here is a better look at these gorgeous wooden buttons. Here is the Etsy shop where I bought mine.

Okay, that’s it for now. I will write up the pattern and make it available over the next few days. Get your skeins of Outer wound and ready! See the previous post to get the materials information.
